what are your project dimensions?

what dimensions are your media files on timeline?

the issue describe is often caused by media being smaller than project [editing] dimensions

This looks like your video material is smaller than the canvas in Camtasia. You either need to fill out the canvas with your video material completely or reduce the canvas size to the size of your video material and produce the video with that same size.
What canvas size do you use? Which size is your video material and which size do you want to produce your video with?

When I'm creating custom project I select 1080p, 1920x1080, 16:9. But I'm new to this program so I don't know many things so I need to ask: Where do I check dimensions of media files?

That's not the actual canvas size, only the zoom with which you are looking at it. You can check and change your canvas size when you right-click on the canvas and select project options. When you produce videos in 1080p then your canvas should have the same size.

Also, you need to fill out all of the black area with on the canvas with medias because the whole canvas is whats being produced in the video.

You have a choice to make.
The video needs to be one size. 1920 x 1080 is my preference but there's a problem in this case. That 1280 x 720 footage will need to be scaled up to fill the canvas area and that will leave with a softened image due to the enlargement. If you leave it at 100% scale, there would be black bars all the way around it.

You need to resize all of your media to fit in the canvas area. Your photos  are not 16x9 aspect ratio. So you can scale them to fit with black bars showing.

Or let them fit the canvas area with portions hanging outside the canvas area.

If you edit and produce your video at 1280 x 720. The 720 video will be sharp and focused and the other media will scale down and look pretty good as well.

The rule of thumb is to record, edit and produce at the same dimensions. But when you mix sizes. Results are usually better when you scale media downward.

If you have very little footage in 1280 x 720. I would lean toward a 1920 x 1080 production and live with a little blurriness from that footage. It's a judgment call really. It's YOUR movie.

Should I do something with the video size/embed size option when I'm creating custom project?
