When ever I group images together or sometime when I just move them from one track to another.. the whole video gets darker for some reason. Sometimes when the video is finished editing it will show the colors getting darker and brighter too which looks really sloppy. What is causing this? I'm using Camtasia 2018

That's quite unusual, can't say I've ever seen this reported before.

If it were me, I would start by updating the drivers of my graphics card. They are the driving force behind everything you see.

Theres another route. Temporarily disable hardware acceleration "Graphics Card" in Camtasia. See if that clears it up.
If it does, definitely update you're drivers and turn acceleration back on. See where you're at.

Unfortunately that didn't help. All my drivers are up to date as well.

Unfortunately, 2018 is no longer covered by tech support.

I would look at Windows Update History. See if one was installed when these anomalies started occurring.
I would uninstall the ones that are not security related.See if that does it.

If the update is Windows 10,version 2004. I wouldn't touch it.Thats a major release/update. I would run a repair install on Camtasia instead.

This used to be my go to move for program errors.
Since Windows 10 was released, program files have become stable.
Some minor user preferences may be changed by running it.
Its less intrusive than a re-install and will accomplish pretty much the same thing.
The image shows Camtasia 2019 but procedure is the same for 2018.

See if any of this helps.
