Video lags but Audio is fine

So I have a video clip that I recorded with my camcorder originally in the MTS file format.  I know that Camtasia does not support that format so after reading a post, I converted it to an .MP4 format.  When I add the clip to the timelime, the audio works perfectly, but the video is extremely laggy.  So thinking that it was the format, I converted the MTS format into a .AVI format and it does the same exact thing.  Any other clip that I have (not recorded with my camcorder) plays and edits just fine.
If I play the file outside of Camtasia, both the MTS and MP4 format in VLC player, the video and audio play perfectly.
I'm using the full version of Camtasia 8 as well.  Any ideas on what's causing this issue?

Hey Romial,

Are you seeing any of that lag when you produce the video out? Are you just seeing it in the preview window in the editor itself?
