I want to create a video in 1280X720, for purposes of export to mp4. Do I record using the preset YouTubeHD (1280X720), then export to mp4? Does it record in the format I need for export to mp4?

The recorder will capture in a format that it will use for editing. You don't need to concern yourself with these settings. All you need to do is record.

I am recording the video I am creating in Camtasia, in a WebEx meeting. I want to record that meeting. The video is small on the screen, and the tech suggested I try recording in a greater resolution... at least 720.... so I'm going up to 1280 X 720, and defaults to youtube settings. He may not have known what he was talking about... but I was just asking, if it is the resolution dimensions that matter.. or if there is something special about "youtube" that i don't understand.

Is this an online recording that you are now re-recording? Can you give me a link to that video so I can assess your options? Resolution is a long winded subject with a lot layers. In a nut shell, if you can make the video you are recording larger on screen. Preferably full screen. And also improve the resolution ( Image Quality ) of the Onscreen Video itself. "Not your recorder." That is recording at a higher resolution. Resolution is basically, How large the area is on the screen you are actually recording. The subject only gets deeper from here.

Hi. Thanks for your help. As it turns out... I have just been on the phone with WebEx, and I what I am seeing, it turns out, is the maximum that the WebEx structure allows me to see... so not a Camtasia issue at all.
Thanks for your help.
