I use Snag it 13.
I want to capture a snag using snagit without being promt with the window that allows you to move the capture and the need to then hit the small camera button. I want to capture an area and paste it into e.g. powerpoint. Why do i need to see this box where i can move the capture, it is ineefficient.

I don't know if this helps or not, but there is a free Camtasia plugin for PowerPoint called OfficeMix. Allows you to record or capture the screen into Power Point.

Camera button ... if you are trying to copy and paste a video, this will not help
If it is a screen capture you want to just paste, you can make a profile that bypasses the editor and assign it a hot key. I do this all the time for pasting into emails
IF it is a graphic and not a video, please post back and I will get you the steps to create it. I was going to attach my exported profile but I cannot attach it here

Hi Karl - to directly capture an image and paste it, you can set your capture setting like this:

But Snagit can do even better...it can send the capture directly to PPT if you set your capture settings like this:

As Rick mentioned, you can save any of these capture settings as a capture preset (mapped to a hotkey, if desired) for instant reuse in the future. Just click the "+" next to the word Presets and choose "New preset from current settings..." This guide has more details.
