Want to set opacity / transparency of an image on Snagit 2018

I want to change the opacity or translucence of an image so that it has a see-through effect. I just upgraded to Snag-It 2018 an that feature no longer seems to be available -- I am almost certain I used it in earlier versions. In checking help and doing searches, this feature seems to have fallen by the wayside; is it just in a hard-to-find place or has it been dropped from the product?

Just draw a white box over all or part and adjust the opacity on that

Try clicking Effects in the lower right corner of the editor, then Filters, then choose Opacity.

Don't forget to click Apply once you have it as you want! (I often miss that step myself)

Cheers... Rick :)

Are you saying it doesn't work for you?

Assuming so, are you maybe on the Mac version? I'm  not a Mac fanboy so I have no idea if this feature is available on the Mac version.

This thread is about using SnagIt on a Windows Desktop. I had no clue it would even run on a mobile phone!

I didn't know it ran on a mobile phone either.  Best I can suggest is to slap a couple of screen protectors on there.  That should do it. :)

Hi Colleen, the Mac version of Snagit has a small number of color filters (grayscale, sepia, invert) under the Effects panel. They are chosen based on utility for working with screen-based (as opposed to photographic) content.

I used the eraser and selected Opacity and that worked.
