If you are referring to the Camtasia download file, It's more than just a recorder.

It's a video editor WITH a recorder included.

Ok so it is a video editor too?

I didn't know that or I wouldn't have downloaded it... I'm on 6GB per month at my provider and it costs me an arm and a leg.

I’m surprised the download link on the Techsmith site offers no clue as to the data size of the download.

Or, did you get the download from elsewhere?

There's more than one way to download it. If I try to download it using Windows downloader through Firefox. Downloading it directly through TechSmith is a free trial. It tells me the file size through this pop-up window.

Then there's the option of downloading any version of TechSmith software from another webpage. Where the file size information is clearly marked directly above the download tab.

I'm curious what source you used to download the file Jasper.Hartline?

Because I would hate to think this is happening to other people. And if it is, this needs to be addressed.

Regards, Joe

Jasper -  I assume your paying big fees for satellite downloads. Do you not have a Library, coffee shop, doctor's office, school or hotel nearby? They generally will provide free wifi  and just in case, pack a Cat 5/6 cable, and/or a USB-C network cable with you in case they offer a wired connection.
BTW MS's 1709, 1803 and 1809 upgrades were all 4 GB +

Part of what makes the Camtasia installer large is that we also include a number of audio files, images and other resources which you can use in your videos.
