Watermark Positioning

Please bring back the facility to accurately position a watermark, with the ability to offset from the T, L, R, B or Centre by some number scale (in earlier versions it was by %age).
The stupid little positioning box that is in the current version does not allow sufficient precision (virtually none, actually) - it's a really retrograde step.

I don't normally use watermarks.
I played around with it,I agree.Precision is out the window with the new design.

You got my vote for a return to the old way of positioning.

I don't know if you've noticed, they use the same drag around a tiny square for placement in the Editor and Capture.I'm not sure how you are trying to use the feature. Capture/Editing.

I guess if you want precision. You could do a hit or miss capture session until you get it a setting that's close enough or spot on.Then save it as a custom profile.

Or do it old fashioned way, paste a watermark in the editor and position it by hand.

I generally only use it doing editing, because it is for custom graphics for reports and so forth. Therefore, the position, size and embossing depth almost always need to be different - ie, specific for each image.

Well,
If it's allowed in your environment. You could always have SnagIt 12 installed on the same machine. It's legal and you can activate it with your SnagIt 13 key.

The programs share the same data store. So anything you capture with either program, gets saved to a common library folder. All captures are accessible in either editor.
"Unless you've changed the default location of the data store in preferences"

You can only have one program open at a time.So you would need to close out of 13 completely to edit in 12.Changes made in 12 appear in 13 and visa versa.

You can get SnagIt 12 here if you want to.

Thanks Joe. Yeah, feasible - but a pretty kludgy work-around and pretty inefficient.
Obviously it would be better if the problem was solved in the software itself - which is the ultimate objective of my feedback to TechSmith.
