We need a Download Output for Vidgrid

We need a download output for VidGrid (vidgrid.com, formerly ilos). This is our school's go-to because of super easy and accurate captioning, plus unlimited hosting with our contract. In fact, all faculty are REQUIRED to host all videos on Vidgrid because the admins can have them captioned if the faculty member forgets. Right now, using Snagit is as easy as dragging and dropping the .mp4 to their upload page, but it would be so much better as an actual output.

Even better they could make a "generic" section that would save anything you put in it.

Have you tried dragging and dropping straight to the vidgrid.com site without even going through snagit?

Yes, as I said in my original post, I can drag and drop the video directly into VidGrid with no problem. But that requires hunting down the destination folder where the video is stored, which in my case is in Google Drive, finding the correct video, as Techsmith names them by date and time, opening Vidgrid and logging in to the upload folder, then dragging and dropping the videos. I often make multiple videos at once, so it is is process, although it may sound like a first-world problem. It would just be nice to be able to input my VidGrid username and password into the output section, like you can with YouTube, Screencast, Google Drive, etc., and have it directly uploaded to their site. Then I could go to their site once all of my videos are uploaded and caption them and be done.

I meant drag from the source to vidgrid without involving snagit.

I see Vidgrid has direct downloading options and also see editing options so that would not even go through snagit.

I'm sorry, that isn't my point. I do it the way you are stating. I am saying that is a pain compared to being able to input my login parameters and have it go on it's own instead of me having to save and hunt down the file, then open the second program and upload, etc. In other words, I can achieve the goal I am requesting...get it to VidGrid...it's just there must be an easier way, like the idea of the generic parameters. By the way...thanks for your suggestions.

OK I  must be dumb as a stump but from what I  see you can do EVERYTHING you desire directly in vidgrid?

LOL! Not dumb as a stump at all, but there are lots of features that are available in Snagit that are not available in VidGrid. Callouts, arrows, quick styles, saving as a still image (screenshot) and others. Most of the time, Vidgrid by itself is fine. Sometimes, I need more functionality.

Yes, Rick, it would force the user to do that, but that is what I already have to do to get the video to VidGrid. BTW, Snagit already saves the videos as .mp4, so that is no big deal. It's the hunting down the file that is a pain (OK, not so much a pain, but time-consuming). I love the idea of the generic output, though, that allows me to put in my own parameters. Thanks for your input.

Hi hvoran - thanks for using Snagit and posting your feedback. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first request we've had for Vidgrid integration. Hopefully other users of that platform may chime in.

One other thing to try if you haven't already: after recording a video with Snagit, just drag it straight out of the Snagit Editor capture tray to the Vidgrid upload target. Works with multiple files, too, if you multi-select them. No need to send videos to Google Drive first. Just tested this on Snagit 2019 on Windows and it worked great. I think we have an issue with video drag and drop on Mac right now but I'm not 100% sure on the status of that.

Yay, this is excellent news! I had no idea you could drag from the capture tray. That will solve my problem altogether.  Thanks for letting me know!
