Where can I find the 'Tick' and 'X' symbols in Snagit 2019. My colleague has them in Version 12 in a 'Styles' bar

Hi,
Alternatively, if you choose the Stamp tool, you can type Tick or X into the search box and they will appear.
Thanks for using Snagit.

That doesn't work for me. I have to search through the collections. If I type an 'X' or, in this case 'Tick', in the search box, the list goes blank with no results.

It works normally for me.
Maybe a repair install would help? I'm becoming reluctant to recommend re-installs these days.Windows 10 is pretty stable.

David, is it possible that your SnagIt version is a bit older? I ask because I believe they changed the Stamps from simple images to PDF files. I believe that the Stamps that exist as PDF files are the only ones that are "searchable".

Is there a version newer than 2019.1.3? All the stamp files, as near as I can tell, are pdf's but labeled with a generic name and numeral such as Accents_33.

Joe, 'Repair install' had no effect. The file naming remains the same.

Sounds like you have a tech support issue to me. I'd open a ticket.
I rarely use Stamps. Never searched for them by name aside from beta testing. I'm not sure how search works?
You can't search for your own stamps by name.
I opened the Stamp folder Business from the program files.
The first stamp "Business_01.pdf" is a Paperclip. I opened it Acrobat.
I typed "Pa" in the search bar. The Paperclip appeared after just 2 letters.

So theres something going on under the skin? I don't know or really care how they do it to be honest. To me, it's a half-baked user unfriendly system. If I used, created and saved a lot of stamps, I would want/need to use search for them. Scrolling through icons?. There doesn't seem to be any way to re-arrange them to taste. Not that that would save you from the scrolling, but you could arrange them alphabetically.

I agree with Joe on this. Likely Tech Support will be your answer. My guess is that there is some component on your system that they are piggybacking on that may need some attention.
For others reading this thread down the road, you actually can create and save your own stamps as well as add your own keywords. I documented a way to do that in the thread linked below:

Cheers... Rick :)
