What do the percent numbers mean in audio level?

In Camtasia 9 you can move the green line in a clip to adjust the audio level. The changes are represented as a certain percent relative to the recorded audio level. What do the percentages correspond to in DB terms? Is 200% 3db above the recorded level? Does 100% of change in the gain control also adjust by 3db?

Without an Audio meter, you cannot possibly know what DB levels your audio is playing at.

A audio meter has been requested for by members for a very long time.We still don't have one.

The best option is to export your audio and edit it in another program. I use Adobe Audition myself.
Audacity is a popular Free program used by many Camtasia owners.
