What is the point of sharing Snagit image with Word, Excel, printer?
Is it not faster to go to file and print?
In both Word and Excel import is available direct into the doucment.

I tried to share a Snagit
image with Microsoft Word (random choice to try) and as well as taking like forever... I got an error message:

Snagit
Snagit is unable to access Microsoft Word. Please confirm that Microsoft Word is properly installed or close any running instances of Microsoft Word. Error: Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} from the ICIassFactory failed due to the following error: 800706ba The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA).

The Snagit editor crashed! Message: A problem caused this program to stop working correctly,
Windows will close the program and notify you is a solution is available. :)

Can anyone else replicate this error?
I managed to successfully share the document in the end.
I don't know what all the initial error messages were about.

It worked for Excel
Also worked as 'print' in share menu

Conclusion: Not the fastest of processes but it worked.
Would it not be faster to save the image and then import it into word directly by adding an image?
Just a thought. Whats the point of sharing it from the Snagit interface? I can understand Social media and cloud storage, but not the other.

For me being able to save to word is a big time saver.

When I have to process step captures to send off,  I have to have them in a PDF.

I open word and send each of the needed captures to word,  add any needed text,  save as PDF
and send it off.

I Don't use Excel from Snagit

The send to printer is helpful also.  Sometimes a paper mockup is needed and to just send it to print
is quick and easy.

Thanks for explaining that. It is faster when it works I guess. It just that I ran into a bit of bother and my screen froze. I was wondering if this is a usual occurrence or just me being unlucky.

I confirm the issue.  When I tried to share to Word, the editor crashed.  Looks like a bug and needs reporting.  Back to you Nick, 'cos I never export to Word. :)

Do I detect the need to post a bug report?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I don't either, just messing and giving the old girl a ride for her money :)
Testing functionality and usability.
Have a great day.

PS I would export to Corel or Photoshop, Illustrator. That would be totally awesome.... Future is it is feasible.

I export to Photoshop all the time, you need to set up a custom share to Photoshop, Corel , Illustrator, etc.
It's a pretty straight forward process.   Start by opening the share to program manager.

Then follow the steps in this video.
It's an older SnagIt 12 video I did long ago but the steps for creating outputs are no different. The first 2 min. or so of the video is all you need, the rest of the video was addressing a Photoshop issue.
