I see the option in the dropdown menu, but I don't notice anything different when I make a video with a "Blurred Theme." Is there somewhere else I should be checking?

Hi Spencer,

I believe the blurred theme is for vertical videos (portrait orientation) only. Selecting the blurred theme will produce a 16:9 video that fills in the space to the left and right of your recording with blurred versions of the screen recording. It's purely an aesthetic choice.

Is the video you recorded horizontal/landscape? If so, that option will not make a difference, as you noted.

Hi Josh,

It's in vertical actually. I chose blurred as an option and then exported. The video is in portrait but it's just black bars filling in the sides, not a blurred effect.

Thanks,

Spencer

Huh. I'll check with a couple people from that team and see if they can't chime in here. Sorry for the confusion.

No prob at all. Glad to have a direct line to you guys. The exported video is good enough. Was just wanting to see what the difference between the two options is. AppShow is great!

Spencer,
The blurred theme comes into play when you're using one orientation of video, but exporting in the opposite orientation.

This video show shows an example:

With the resulting video looking like this:
