What's the shortest way to make one long video, to a few short videos? I mean - is there a way to make cuts, and keep all the pieces as separate movies in one folder?

there are multiple options depending on what exactly you want to accomplish; movies or projects?

slice up the long video and put the small sections into the Library

or

mark up the long video in a project, using markers; produce using separate files from markers

can you provide more details on exactly what you want?

I need to take long lectures of several hours
And cut them into short lectures of 5-10 minutes (30 parts).
I know how to cut one part, delete the rest, and save, but it's a long process.
The question is whether there is a way to cut, and then with one click save all the 30 parts separately to one folder.

Cut your long video into whatever size pieces you want by using the "split" feature. Once you have made the splits save each to the library.

with the long, edited video on timeline, mark it off in marker segments that will represent your 30 parts; make a timeline selection across a marker segment, right click, and add to library, using the "part" name; repeat for all marker segments/parts

you can then access/re-edit/produce each "part" by working with the library version

After saving to library, export one by one to a folder / youtube?
Is there no shorter way?

Something like "Save all clips as separate videos" no?

I stand to be corrected here, but if you have added markers at the desired time elements, when you produce your video you should see an option for creating multiple files based on markers.

Cheers... Rick :)

Ricks suggestion to produce multiple files based on markers is the fastest approach. You don't even have to split the video apart. Just place markers.

I tested it to see how it works. It's not a technique I require. I encountered a workflow issue.

You can name the markers but the names are dropped in the production process. Here I created a mock project.Named some markers and chose Multiple file output from markers. In the image below you will see that the multiple files all have names "Markers" If you look on the timeline. Their named on the timeline.I didn't cut the video at all.I just added markers.
However, when you produce the video. All the videos take on the same production name. They lose their marker names and must be renamed again later. Unless the same name with 0 through ? works for your sharing purposes.
This may be a bug? I don't know why the markers names were dropped.

I believe the reason that marker names per-se are not used for the produced video names is that you can have different markers with the exact same name; this would cause issues when producing

Actually there numbered, so there unique. They should retain their name so you have some idea what's contained in each video.
By stripping out the name. It's anybody's guess what  the videos about? This forces you to rename manually. Unless you have the memory of the Proverbial elephant. But that wouln't help anyone else. LOL

I talked to tech support. They said naming markers was reserved for the smart player and skipping through a video from marker to marker.

The person I talked to understood where I was coming from and submitted it as a feature request on his end. I may submit it as a feature request this weekend when I have time.
