When will Camtasia PowerPoint Add in be compatible with PowerPoint 2013 64 bit?

In other threads people have mentioned that software will eventually be upgraded for users with 64 bit system. I recently purchased a new computer and would like to continue using Camtasia, but I cannot get the PowerPoint add in to work correctly. Is this still because Camtasia addins work only with the 32-bit systems? When is the estimated roll out date for the 64-bit version?

Hey Stacey,

This is something we want to get into you and everyone else's hands as soon as possible. I do know it's a priority for our development team. We will announce our next release here on our feedback forum, and if it's included in that, you will hear about it!

Sorry I can't be more specific than that!

Stacey and Bob,

I think you'll be happy to know that we released Camtasia Studio 8.1 today, which includes a 64-bit version of the PowerPoint add-in.

If you have Camtasia Studio 8 installed (trial or licensed version), you can update to the new version by clicking Help > Check for Updates or by downloading and installing here: http://www.techsmith.com/download/cam...

If you have any other questions or feedback, feel free to let us know.

Today I installed Camtesia 8.1 on my PC with windows 7 64 Bit Professional and Powerpoint 2013 with the option "include powerpoint plugin". Starting PPT then circles with "loading camtesia plugin..." until I stopped it.

Please help me.

Dec 17, 2015.  I am using Windows 10, Camtasia 8.7, PowerPoint 2013 on a new Dell Inspiron and I cannot get the Camtasia add-in to PPT. I've tried all your suggestions, but to no avail. It works on my old computer running Windows 7 and PPT 2007, but that computer doesn't have enough memory to produce my video lectures. I purchased a new computer just to use Camtasia and PPT.  Is there a solution?

Hi terence, and jomiller:

Sorry you're running into this.

I checked around about this issue, and it's not something we have been able to reproduce. Would you be willing to contact Technical Support, either by submitting a support ticket or giving us a call? Hopefully we can get you up and running and also see if there's a solution we can make available.

In the meantime, I just want to make sure you know that you do no need to use the PowerPoint plugin to record a PowerPoint presentation. There are certain advantages to doing so, but if you're in a pinch you can use the regular Camtasia Recorder to record your screen and microphone.
