Where are tags stored

I am trying to locate where the tags created in SnagIt are stored. I assume it is an '.xml' or '.json' file type. Can someone point me in the right direction. I've searched the files in the App Data and Program Data directories and the registry.

I'm guessing, but I suspect its contained in the .sdf file in the Datastore

Which to the best of my knowledge, is what keeps the Library and all of its contents organized and tracked.
I opened mine this morning, can't make head or tails or whats in it.
But theres 99,682 lines.
I have a large back log of images.

I think you're right. I just did another search in the .sdf file and have now found many references to some of the expressions (Tags) I want to modify. Notepad++ is a great tool. Now, how to decipher it.

And further,
I closed out SnagIt and renamed the .sdf file then opened the renamed file in Notepad++, did a search for some of the expressions I want to modify, made changes and then saved the file as Snagit900.sdf. When I restarted SnagIt, it failed (well the 'Capture' window opened but the 'Editor' failed to initialize due to a corrupt file.) After exiting SnagIt again, I renamed the new file and changed the name of the old file to it's original and SnagIt and the Editor both started fine. So, end result, SnagIt/Techsmith need to make it possible/easy to edit/modify/delete tags. My list is getting quite long and I really do not like having to collapse it to see the other lists in the 'library' left search pane.

Ah, gotcha. What are you thinking that you'd want to have to manage these better? Folders of tags or just an easier way to remove some tags in bulk?

Or is your ideal first step just that you'd like to remove unused ones like you mentioned here? https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/renaming-or-deleting-snagit-tags?topic-reply-list[se...

If you had to prioritize the work done to tags, what would that list look like to you?

A right-click menu similar to the image below

in the search pane with options to 'Rename tag' or 'Delete tag' would be what I like to see.
