The blur feature used to be under the Modify section in the Image Tools tab. Where did it go in SnagIt 12?

Hi wwwKris,

If you look under the Tools tab it's the icon that looks like a water drop in the "Drawing Tools" section.

Here's an image I made where I circled it in yellow:

Hello,

You can find that feature here:

Snagit Editor > Tools tab > Blur tool >  Choose the Smooth button or Pixelate button.

I am wondering if you can help me make information like this more findable to people? If you could help me, I would appreciate it!

Did you try to find this information by looking around in the editor and then posting your question here when you could not find it?

Did you look in the help file for "blur" or other key words and not find the help you needed?

Something else?

I would really like to understand where and how people seek help so we can put the information you need where you are searching for it. Any information you would care to share on this topic (and others as well) would be appreciated.

I hope this helps!

Stumbled upon this old post, not sure if you still want to know how to make this more findable...

My recommendation: Change the icon to a pixeled blur instead of a drop. A drop makes me think of "paint" or "fill color".

Boy, I am on SnagIt 11, and I just lost almost 10 minutes trying to find the blur tool.  Can't it be an option that's also written in text somewhere???  The interface is very cute and everything, but that doesn't count for much when it's not usable.  I don't use Blur often enough to memorize what that icon looks like, and I doubt most others do either.  I know it was easy to find in earlier versions of SnagIt.

Anne, I agree.  Someone in marketing came up with a new fancy look to have it do the same ol thing it did before and we all have to find where they buried the feature.  "Stop moving my cheese!" :-)

You can capture the SnagIt editor with SnagIt but you need to make a change in preferences in order to do so first.

I like the fact that you can move/delete the blur.  The part I really dislike is finding it.
