Where has the 'Trim' function gone?

I can't seem to find the Trim function in v13, and it isn't listed in the "Where did it go" page.

I used this function every day so I hope you haven't chucked it out!

Yeah, I was told it was Image > Auto Trim or you can click at the bottom where the image size is presented.

There is also Image > Resize Canvas

Personally, I much preferred the way we could do it in version 12 and earlier. :(

The placement option might be useful, but it does not allow to set its default to left upper corner, what I mostly need. It even does not remember the last setting, so many times I have to adjust not only the values but also the placement.

I really miss the trim function (not the auto trim function) in 2018 version where I can manually trim image myself.

I'm gong back to V.12 due to this - although V.12 trim not as good as V.6 trim where it always opened at 0px (V.12 opens at last used number of pixels)

I'm guessing you are meaning that nifty little "Custom Trim" dialog where you could shave pixels off using the spin controls?

If so, I miss it terribly myself! I used that little guy a lot. Very useful. At least, it was to me.

Cheers... Rick :)

I just started a new job and insisted on getting SnagIt. Trim is something I use all the time, but not anymore. That's because I have Image>Auto Trim, and I have a button for it on my tool bar, but neither of them does anything. Neither does Ctrl+9. It doesn't matter what else I do, the button simply doesn't "click". The only workarounds I've found is Invert Selection, but that's not much better than Crop. This is very annoying.

Image> Auto Trim is gone. I used that all the time. I upgraded to 2018 today, and so far, I'm missing a few things from v13 and a few of the promised fancy functions aren't even there.

Autotrim is still there. I believe you now have to add it to your toolbar.

Cheers... Rick :)

Hmmm... it's not in my image menu or in the custom toolbar options. Where are you seeing it, Rick?

Well gooness, I'm wrong. It does do something, but not what it used to. If the canvas is bigger that the Image, hit AutoTrim and out pulls the canvas in to match the Image. Nice, I guess, but not what need it for, and not what it used to do.

I still have 12 at home, and I'm going to stick with it. At work, I'll just deal.
