Where to store files / How to move files

I spent MANY hours creating my last project and I ended up abandoning it because I moved some of the files.  At the time, I was not aware that you can't do this.  I understand (now) that the files should be located in a single folder.  However, I have two main questions.  First, do I have to store them on my computer or can I store them in the cloud, specifically Google Drive or One Drive?  (OneDrive requires me to log into my employer's network.)   Second, how do I move the files from one location to another and keep the project on track?  Do I need to "point" the project to the new location/path?  I am using Camtasia 8.6 ...thanks!

Use the Export as ZIP feature. Be aware it is not advised to open Camtasia project files stored anywhere in the cloud due to the high possibility of bandwidth issues and crashing. Always load the files on a local drive and work from there.

1. From your saved open project file, select File > Export as zip.
2. Select a location on your PC to store the zip file. Make sure Include all files... is selected.

3. You can transport the single zip file anywhere you like. As stated above, download it to a local drive.
4. On the target location, open Camtasia and select File >  Import zipped project.
5. Select a place on the location PC to store the project once it is unzipped. This will be your new project folder.

6. When you click OK, Camtasia automatically unpacks all project files into a single directory that you you selected, making it certain you have everything you need.

NOTE: Use Camtasia to "unzip" the zipped project file. Unzipping with another compression app will product unpredictable results.

I would add that if Camtasia has any difficulty "seeing" the files in their new location, for each "missing" resource (file) the program will give you a chance to update it.
