I just installed snag it 11. I don't have nearly as many choices of arrows as I had before. Where did they go and how do I get them back? (in editor/draw)

Hi,
It's true that on the surface, Snagit 11 has less arrows than prior versions. However, that's not really the whole story. We may have less pre-made arrows, but we have more variation and base types.

In Snagit 11 we have a lot more variety in the initial set of arrows. If you go back and look at prior versions, you're going to notice that there is just a handful of flavors (base types) with different colors.

Here's what I recommend: Pick an arrow and play with it--end points, shadow effect, colors, etc. The key is when you get something you like, add it to your Quick Styles. It'll add your custom arrows to the box so next time instead of 12 you'll have 13, 14, etc. This is the way to build up a diverse collection of arrows. (And save a lot of work having to recreate them later!)

I don't have access to Snagit 11 at the moment or I'd whip you up a quick video. I had to use words (booo) but my offer for a future video and screenshots still stands!

Let me know if that makes sense and seems like a good solution. You can search the help for Quick Styles or Arrows if needed.

Sorry for all the words... and thanks for the post!

Good news!
One of our developers, Chris G, has been aware of this thread and the other night he sent out a link to something he'd been tinkering with. He's created an .exe file that will install all the old objects--arrows, callouts, lines, etc. After installing, it defaults to the "old" row in the interface like it would look in versions 9 and 10.

Download it from here: http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/ans...

(It's a little hard to see the link, so here's a screenshot just in case: http://www.screencast.com/t/tsGyJQYpdv )

Hooray Chris!
