Why is it so difficult to apply plain, unadorned text?

All I want to do is add a free text box with plain unadorned style.  No shadows, no outlines, but it it is SO difficult.  Why can't we have a 'remove all text formatting' option to strip all the fancy stuff of?

Good Question
Could someone please show me where the plus is to add a text style  to quickstyles
This is what the Help says and I can't find it
As you edit the properties, a new Quick Style appears at the bottom of the Quick Styles. Click the  icon to save the custom style for future use.

It's also frustrating that you cannot apply a background color other than transparent to your text. It would be great if you could apply a background color so that your text can cover up whatever is beneath it.

Another styling choice I wish they would let us remove is that, when you resize the box containing your text, it re-positions the text inside it, even if you have your padding set to zero. Another situation where plain, unadorned text with no margin, padding or other styles applied, would be extremely welcome.

You CAN make plain unadorned text, but I have found no way to save it as a quickstye

So, how do you do it?  It should be a simple thing but it seems so hard to me. :(

Click on a letting style that you like. There will be a menu below and you can change the color, the border COLOR but not get rid of it anymore and the shadow which can be unchecked

But that's my point.  You have to do stuff do remove styling and there are some things you can't remove.  A simple 'Remove all formatting' option is necessary
