Why is the serious Snagit destination folder bug still not fixed?

In Snagit 3.3.6 on El Capitan, the destination folder always switches back to the default Autosave Location when you take a new screenshot. This is a serious bug and makes Snagit essentially useless for professional users who have take many screenshots and want to save them to different folders. This bug has been reported months ago and has been confirmed by TechSmith. Such serious bugs need to be fixed within days and not months! Very disappointing!

I'm right behind you here, Michael.  I have used SnagIt extensively for a number of years for Windows Help file development using MadCap's Flare. This currently has 677 images in 33 different folders.  These are all currently being duplicated for a Mac version of the software which is about to be released.

I noticed when I upgraded(?) EL Capitan and First opened SnagIt it switched it Original Folder. But I have a Utility called Default Folder and was able to switch back to the File of My Choice and it stuck I attempted to save a second copy and it stayed on the Folder of my choice.

george, I am sure this bug bothers the majority of Snagit users.

pjonesCET, I tried version 5 of Default Folder and it didn't work for me. Are you sure you took a second screenshot? Or did you just save a second a file? Nevertheless, the tool helps because you can quickly select a recent folder. So it is just one additional click. It is just funny to buy another tool that almost costs the same as Snagit because of this ugly Snagit bug. But I admit that Default Folder looks like a nice tool on its own right.

No I created a second screen shot.  You can create Custom Default Folder Preferences. For individual applications  Just switch to Snagit Folder and specified folders will show the desired folder to save files. I've been using different versions for years and they save a lot of time.

pjonesCET, I think you misunderstood the problem. A default Snagit folder is exactly what I don't want. You can also set a default folder in the Snagit Preferences. What I want is that Snagit uses the folder where I saved the last screenshot. This is the default behavior in all applications. If you work on different projects you often have to take several screenshots and you want to save them right where they belong and not in a "default folder."

I save all my Screenshots whether from Snagit, Ember, SnapNDrag, Skitch, MonoSnap, in a Folder called Screenshots. 90% of the time I use SnagIt. But the others have Features that are need on occasion that Snagit doesn't have. For instance some have a better method to do menu screenshots. Then I share them on forums I answer question on.
