Why is there no option about whether opened files should be added to the Library?

In the Editor preferences you can choose whether new captures should be added to the Library. But there is no option to choose whether any files that you manually open with the Editor should be added to the Library. They just get added whether you like it or not. If I open up some outside file that I simply want to annotate, I don't necessarily want that added to Snagit's library.

Why do you have to pick the kind of capture you want to do before you select the area !

Why are you hijacking this thread instead of creating your own? What does your comment have to do with the issue posted in this thread?

To clarify.  You want it as an additional option yes?  That would be my preference, because I WOULD like them added to the library

Exactly, I'm saying there should be an option (see the title of this post where I used the words "Why is there no option").

And there should also be a command or toolbar button to add to the library. Most times when I open images that originated elsewhere, I don't want them added to the Snagit library. But on some occasions I might, and therefore in those specific cases I should be able to choose individually to add those images to the library.

Hi Neville,

I've never thought about an option for this before so thanks for bringing this up for discussion.

I am going to turn your post over to an IDEA since Robert takes all of the ideas and manages those and it might get missed being logged as a Question.

Thanks again.
