Version 3 has no automatic "Save to File" like its Windows counterpart!  I consider this the main selling point to SnagIt.  It's kind of silly this is not included when Alt-Shift-3 can do this.  Also, the editor has no "Finish" button like the Windows version which means I have to go to my menu and name my file EVERY TIME instead of automatic naming that Windows has!  How were these overlooked?????

Hi,

These features are now included in Snagit 4 on Mac. Please note that this is a paid upgrade, but you can trial it for 15 days and revert back to version 3 if needed.

Hi,

We tested the File System output and it does work with the latest version of Snagit 3, so you can get the plugin here and double-click to install it once it has downloaded. It won't be quite as automatic as what you're used to, but it could save you some steps.

The option to save to a File is there in SnagIt Version 2019.1.2 (94033), but without the possibility of being able to specify the file format. I'm looking for a GIF save option, since it is usually less than half the size of PNG files, and has the quality requirements I need.

Hi,

The share to file option respects the file format in Snagit's advanced preferences, so if you change that to gif, all shares to file will now be in that format.
