I just bought Camtasia 8 and I can't render my videos. It renders exactly 12.6% each time I try and then freezes. GAH! Please help. I can't use this $200+ software :-/

Hi S Silveri,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble. It sounds like you would benefit from contacting our Technical Support team. They can work with you one-on-one to troubleshoot the issue and get you up and running.

To open a ticket with them, just visit http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/uti.... If you haven't contacted Tech. Support before, you'll need to set up a free account to get started. They're really good at what they do, and you'll typically hear back from them within one business day.

Thanks for posting.

The basics:  Resources.  Post what your system is.  CS is pretty resource intensive...because it is very powerful.  Minimum system should be (for guaranteed rock solid performance)  Newer quad core clocked over 3G, 8 gig ram and a separate video card (just think like a gamer!)  If you have multiple tracks of video running, like Trk 1 has the main video, Trk 2 has a secondary video, if one is in view and the other is hidden behind it, slice the one in the background and remove the piece that's not being viewed.  Even though it's not in view, it's still eating up processing power during render.  Here's a quickie:  Complete the project.  Save...close CS and shut down your computer.  Reboot, open the project and then render.  CS, like pro level broadcast editors, hold onto resources when in use.  Rebooting clears any leftovers in ram so the system has more headroom for editing.
