Why does my video production stop at 1.1%?

I need to edit a video that was originally recorded with GoToMeeting, but I'm running into production problems; when I try to produce my video, it stops at 1.1%. I know that GoToMeeting's .wmv file format is somehow different from a traditional .wmv file, meaning that Camtasia has trouble producing a .camproj file created from an imported .wmv from GoToMeeting. That being the case, I tried to save the video as a .wmv file using Windows Movie Maker, something that has worked for me in the past with this problem (I imported the GoToMeeting .wmv to Windows Movie Maker, saved the video as a .wmv in Windows Movie Maker, and imported the video into Camtasia to make my edits), but it didn't work for me this time.

So, I guess my question is how can I use Camtasia to produce GoToMeeting .wmv files?

Hi Jill,

We have seen this and we recommend using Expression Encoder to re-encode the WMV file so it can be edited and produced in Camtasia. We have a KB article here with steps and a video on how to use Expression Encoder.

I hope it helps!
