Running Snagit and capturing is slower than ver. 10. Snagit Editor when trying to add text, symbols, or just working in snagit editor is so slow, much much slower than ver 10.

Capturing images is essentially instant for me. Have you tried build 102?

Upgrade says mine is the latest. Main problem is the slow editor. I will see if I can download a later version.

I use version 11.4.3 and it is SO SLOW. Snagit often is not responding of takes for ever to do edit pics.  Not happy anymore with this software.

Nat, I suggest you open a support case. There's probably some other bit of software that's the culprit. (see my note later on my resolution)

Interesting. That sounds like a bug in the version checker. This is a snapshot of my version:

When you are referring to adding symbols in the Snagit editor, I am not sure if you mean stamps. But the stamps can be slow due to the size of the stamps you try to add. If the stamp is large it will take some time to load them.

I have similar problem. I recently upgraded to version 11 and it's sooo slow. Just adding in text and editing the page is becoming tiresome.

Priya,

I have tried to uninstall and re-install with the latest version and I still have the same problem of all the edits are real slow. I haven't had any good help from this forum so sure hope that you get a response.

I'm still having this issue with the Editor. I'm running Windows 8 and it's been slow since upgrading from SnagIt 10. I currently have 11.4.1 (Build 195). It's too slow to be productive using.

Have you tried updating to the latest Snagit version - 11.4.2? Our January release helped improved startup and performance to make Snagit faster. Hopefully this helps!

Yes, I did update to 11.4.2 and it's still running very slow. Any other ideas?

I also see "slowness" am not sure when it first showed up. I just updated and got 11.4.1 (was 11.4.0) and still is slow.

It takes about 4 seconds for the newly captured image to show up in the editor. When I do File > New in the editor, it *also* takes 4 seconds for the blank canvas to show up. When I set the option to not show a preview in the editor, but to save to file, it also takes about 4 seconds for the Save As dialog to show up.

The 4 second delay is an annoyance when you're taking back-to-back captures.

My system hardware is i7-970, 24G RAM, 9G in use, Win7 64-bit, two HD6750 video cards (not in CrossfireX mode) I.e., should be blindingly fast.

I upgraded to version 12.0 in hopes the issue would be gone, but it is still there. This seems to be a SnagIt editor issue, since when I choose a profile that captures to Word, it is instantaneous.

I have exactly the same poblem. Very frustrating, makes the program unworkable (ver. 11.4.3. (build 280).

Open a support case. I did that and they determined at least one 3rd-party software component was part of the problem. I uninstalled that (was a device utility thing which I fortunately was not needing anyway) and now it's working very fast.
