I am a long time SnagIt user, but I'm having a major problem with your current version (1.0.4) on my current operating system (Mac 10.6.8) that's driving me bonkers. I can't do scrolling captures because I never get the necessary arrows on the page. Please help!

Hi Phil,

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. Could you help me out and provide a little more information? What applications are you trying to scroll in?

Thanks

Jason,

Not sure how to answer this, so I'll throw out everything i can think of...

I'm using SnagIt...
To capture a scrolling capture of a webpage....
But it doesn't scroll, because there are no arrows appearing on the page to permit me to scroll.
That's irrespective of the webpage I'm on and trying to capture.

This is a persistant problem that I've been encountering for months. In fact, I think it's been true for as long as I've tried to use SnagIt on this MacBook Air. I browse with Chrome, if that makes any difference.

Phil,

That last bit of information there was the key. At this time, we do not support scrolling capture in Chrome. Our supported browsers are Safari and Firefox (Firefox needs a plugin though).

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. When I asked what application you were trying to scroll in, I meant the program rather than the website. Sometimes technologies employed by certain websites can interfere with our ability to scroll a page, but if you are never able to do a scrolling capture within a specific browser or other application (Finder, Pages, Mail, ect.), that's an issue with the program, not the website/content.

Give it a try in Safari or Firefox and let us know if you continue to experience problems. Keep in mind that Firefox needs a plugin. If you haven't installed it already you can get it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...

Thanks!

That fixed it. It was the Chrome incompatibility. It was driving me bonkers since I almost always need to scroll when i capture. From now on I'll use Safari.

Thanks!

Hi Phil,

We just wanted to let you know that we just released version 2.0 of Snagit for Mac, and one of the great features to be added was scrolling capture in
Google Chrome! The upgrade is available at our discounted 50% off price for current 1.0.4 customers. Additionally, we added the ability to record a video of your screen to a file (MP4) that can be shared to YouTube and other popular destinations like Twitter and Facebook.

If you're interested in trying in out, simply click the "Check for Updates" button under the Snagit main menu, here is a link to more information about upgrading: http://www.techsmith.com/upgrade/snagit/ .

Have a great day, and thank you for your feedback and involvement in our GetSatisfaction community :)

Jason
