Windows screen saver - lost SnagIt recording?

I'm running SnagIt 11.2.1 (Build 72 - May 29, 2013).

I think I just lost 2 days of work. For these 2 recordings Windows screen saver kicked in both times and when I got back into my Windows desktop the recording appeared to be stopped and I don't seem to find any remaining files in the temporary directories cited in other forums:

%appdata%\Local\Temp\
%appdata%\Local\TechSmith\Snagit\DataStore\

I'm really really not happy about this at all. This took considerable effort and I'm not sure when I'm going to get a chance to create these recordings again, if ever.

If TechSmith support could help that would be very much appreciated.

Hi there,

If the file isn't in those directories, odds are you are out of luck. The issue here is the screensaver, as I'm sure you know. Snagit isn't built to deal with that when it kicks on. Best bet for the future is to make sure you turn off your screensaver for any longer recordings. Sorry that I can't help you out more, and sorry about the inconvenience!
