Wireless Remote to Advance Slides Doesn't Work When Recording

why doesn't my wireless remote (to advance powerpoint slides) work when i'm recording in camtasia 8 for windows? it works fine when i'm practicing, but once i'm actually recording, it doesn't work. this is a pain!

please help!

Just tested this with 2010 PPT on WIN 7 Dell laptop and the CS PPT plug-in worked fine when I changed slides with my $70 Logitech remote pointer. (forgot the model # but 5 years old I guess)

It's something on your hardware side; try the receiver nub in a different USB port?

thanks, but i've found a solutions--i think. for some reason it won't work UNLESS you first use the mouse (which is also wireless) to advance a slide. after doing that once, the wireless remote works fine.

not sure why this is, but it's working.

I think that's a matter of focus with Windows; unless the PPT is "touched" the remote cannot move it.
