Working webcams for Camtasia on a Mac (HELP!)

I've been looking for good screen capture s/w which also allows me to record myself whilst conducting on screen training. I thought this would be quite a simple ask. First I had a look at Screenflow (which opened a whole can of worms I won't go into - suffice to say I found it quite poor and very glitchy). So now I'm looking at Camtasia (trial version) and it isn't seeing my quite old Logitech cam. I've seen from some of the conversations that there appear to be a very limited number of webcams for the Mac that do work and I couldn't find any list on the Techsmith website. That in itself is very surprising for s/w designed for this very function!

Can someone please supply me with a list of webcams that are known to wrk with Camtasia 3. I'm on a Mac Pro running Sierra. Thanks for any help offered!

Hi, I believe Camtasia supports any webcam your system supports.

To see if your system supports your camera,
Launch the app "photo booth"
Go to the "camera" menu and see if yours is shown.
If so select it and confirm it works.
If so, it should also work in Camtasia.

Note that I have a Logitech C920 camera, and it works for me on my mac, though one time it wasn't detected by the mac and I needed to reboot before it showed up.

Thanks Jack. I traced my current issue to a defective USB hub in the end, so my existing camera now works. It's good to know that the C920 works though as that will most likely be my next webcam purchase. Thanks for your help!
