Would like white numbered balloon stamps. Blue, black, red are offered, but white is standard for most documentation screenshots/callouts.

Would like white numbered balloon stamps. Blue, black, red are offered, but white is standard for most documentation screenshots/callouts, yet unavailable.

If I were able to edit the font and font style of the number balloons, and remove the shadowing, but still have SOME sort of outline, then I could use those balloons.  However that's not the case. Either one or the other of these items would be an awesome addition. Thanks!

Hi abronson,

I'm not exactly sure which stamps you are referencing as the balloon stamps... but, I am wondering if the options on the Step Tool number stamps would work for you?
You can change the look, color, type of number, opacity, and shadow to create white numbers.

Here are a couple I came up with in just a few seconds.

Do you think this might work for you? The Step Tool is located under the More button on the toolbar.

Hi Kelly, thanks for the prompt reply.  I've been trying to use the above mentioned step tools, but the problem is that it's not a standard font, like Times New Roman, and I cannot change the font nor the font size, it's a one-font/one-font-size (relative to balloon size) fits all tool.

It would be IDEAL if I could use these, and just be able to modify font and size.  However, another snag is that there isn't an outline. I have to use a centered shadow effect to make it look like a white circle with black outline, and I tried sneaking that through but they noticed and don't approve of any shadow effect.

For now, I'm stuck creating a circle and then a number inside, and changing numbers sequentially as needed, or working with GIMP which I don't want to do...I'm trying to push for Snagit as a standard application for documentation, but this put a big bump in my road.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Hi,
Is it possible to send me an image with the kind of stamp you do use that meets your branding/standard guidelines?

I'm just curious since I have never seen white stamps used. And, I might be able to come up with something.
Just send a screenshot to k.mullins@techsmith.com if you can.

Thanks!
Kelly

Thanks Kelly!  Sure I'll send something along. I may not be using the right verbiage, I went to the stamp section, and clicked the "more" arrow, and there are sets of numbers with white text/black background, or blue back ground or red background. I'm sorry if i messed up the words. Stay tuned...screenshot coming your way!

The beauty of the Step object is it does exactly that, it increments automatically.  And to have an outline and the ability to change the font seems entirely reasonable to me.

I'd like to add a request too please.  Sadly I sometimes find that having carefully constructed a complex screenshot with say a dozen steps, I realise I missed one out.  Or I may be updating a screenshot that has already been flattened.  It would be SOOOO nice to be able to label a step as 1b, but you can't

Paul I whole-heartedly agree!  Especially with most of the screenshot-documentation tasks of using those numbers, without the Snagit I have to copy-paste in some generic Word thing, which has square white edges and I feel like the Snagit steps look more professional. I was loving using the steps, it's fantastic software!
