Hi,
Were you connected to the internet when you attempted to install the trial software?

If not, you will correctly see the message you received.
We have instituted a new log-in process in order for you to use the trial software. This includes setting up a TechSmith account.

If you were connected to the internet, then something else is wrong.

Yes I was connected to the internet. I have never had a problem installing a program before. I have only had a problem with Snagit so I have uninstalled it.

I have the same problem and I also was connected...
I need to enter my software key but it doesn't give an option, it closes itself after I click OK out of those two errors.

Hi Ruben,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with this process!
Have you tried restarting your computer since you have installed?
Are you using software downloaded from the TechSmith website or did you get it elsewhere?

If you have tried restarting your computer and this still occurs, I you should open a ticket with our technical support team.

This is a free service and they try to get back to you within a day.

You can submit a ticket here:
https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Or call: 1.517.381.2300

Toll Free: 800.517.3001 (U.S. & Canada Only)

8:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST Monday through Friday

They should be able to look at your system and determine what may be causing this.

I am experiencing the same issue.  I attempt to log in to the trial version of Snagit and I get an error saying I am not connected to the internet.  I have created a ticket.

I am wondering if those who are having this trouble are on a home computer or work computer.

If at work, could it be your firewall or other security settings might be preventing you from making a connection to the TechSmith site that verifies your information?

In this case, you could be connected, but this particular operation is being blocked by a security system your company has put in place behind the scenes.

So, maybe give your IT person a call and see if this could be the root of the issue. They might be able to help.

However, if you are at home or the local coffee shop and are trying this over a wifi network, you should not see this kind of message. In this case, our own technical support should be able to help you out.

I had the same problem today (I was issued a new laptop at work and everything worked but SnagIt, which gave me the same messages the others experienced). I had to be given temp admin access to download the software from SnagIt and re-enter my License Key. I am blocked from our firewall from using the SnagIt safe option for storing credentials. But it works now. I have ver. 12.4.1, Build 3036, Aug. 14 2015.

v12.4.1 (trial on vmware workstation v12)

Same here ...
Can browse anywhere, but SnagIt "Manage My Places" tells me I am not connected.

As for me, no problem right now, as SnagIt does not (yet) offer support for OneDrive (personal, i.e. non-business) anyway.
